Will a U7 Pro XG Fit Your Existing UniFi Arm Mount?
The questionWhere do these come from?
U7 Pro XG on AP Arm Mount?
Hi all - I have a U7 Pro on a Unifi arm mount. I want to swap the U7 Pro out for a U7 Pro XG. Does anyone know if it will fit the arm? Details on the Unifi site aren’t very useful.
Don't assume it fits: no UniFi page we found confirms the U7 Pro XG on an older arm mount, so check the model and mount SKU first.
The U7 Pro XG will not necessarily fit an older UniFi arm mount, and no manufacturer page we could find says that it does. If you already own an arm mount, treat “fits” as unconfirmed until you have checked the exact access point model, the exact mount SKU, and the hole pattern. Buying the UniFi Pro Mounting Bracket Kit as an adapter is a reasonable fallback, but it is also unconfirmed for this access point.
This article rests on Ubiquiti store pages and reseller listings. No independent lab has published mounting measurements for this access point, and nothing here was tested hands-on.
First, check which U7 Pro XG you have
Two similar names cause most of the confusion:
- U7 Pro XG: the ceiling-oriented tri-band Wi-Fi 7 model. A reseller listing describes it as 20.6 cm wide and deep and 3.25 cm high, wall or ceiling mountable.
- U7 Pro XG Wall: the in-wall style model. Ubiquiti sells separate accessories for it, including a flush mount and a table stand.
Those wall accessories are named for the Wall model. Ubiquiti’s flush mount page describes it as a flush mount for U7 Pro XG Wall access points. Don’t read them as proof that the ceiling XG works with the same hardware.
What the sources do and do not confirm
| Mount | What sources say | Confirms U7 Pro XG? |
|---|---|---|
| Older “arm” style mounts | Ubiquiti’s store lists “Flagship AP Arm Mounts” as a separate accessory category. The flush mount page does not tie it to any model. | No |
| U-PRO-MP Professional Mounting Bracket | Resellers describe a plate for wall, junction box, T-bar and ceiling-tile mounting, fitting APs from the UAP-AC-PRO era onward. | Not by name |
| U7 Pro XG Wall Flush Mount | Described as for U7 Pro XG Wall access points. | Wall model only |
| U7 Pro XG Wall Table Stand | The model-specific table stand SKU exists, and a reseller lists it as compatible only with the U7-Pro-XG-Wall. | Wall model only |
The honest gap: Ubiquiti’s own pages show model-specific mounting accessories for the XG line, and none we could read says an older arm mount is supported. Keep that in mind before you buy.

Skip to the picksIf your existing mount is a standard Pro-style plate
If what you own is the plate-style U-PRO-MP, that is the most plausible case for reuse. Resellers describe it as a universal bracket with several hole patterns, and one says it suits any UniFi AP released after the UAP-AC-SHD. That is a reseller’s claim rather than a Ubiquiti compatibility statement, and the listings do not name the U7 Pro XG. Before you drill anything, compare the AP’s rear hole spacing with the plate, using the quick start guide that ships in the XG’s box. If they match, the plate probably works. If they don’t, the plate is a dead end.
If your existing mount is an arm mount
An arm mount holds the AP away from the wall or ceiling on a bracket. Whether it takes the XG depends on three things nobody has published together for this model: the AP’s rear mounting pattern, its weight, and the arm’s rated load. Without all three, “it looks similar” is not enough. The 10G-capable XG is also larger than the plainer Wi-Fi 7 models, so even a matching pattern could leave the AP overhanging the arm.
Practical steps:
- Find the SKU printed on your arm mount or its box.
- Open that SKU’s page on store.ui.com and read the compatibility list. If the U7 Pro XG is not named, assume it is unsupported.
- If the page is silent, ask Ubiquiti support or the community before buying. That is a real answer: only Ubiquiti can say yes.
When the Pro Mounting Bracket Kit is worth buying
The kit is the sensible adapter when you want to keep an existing ceiling or T-bar install and have confirmed that the XG’s holes line up with the plate. It’s a poor buy if you were counting on it to adapt an arm mount, because nothing we found says it does that. Treat it as a “consider”, not a guaranteed fix.
The U7 Pro XG Wall Flush Mount is the alternative only for the Wall variant. For the ceiling XG, it is the wrong part.
What to do if nothing fits
Buy the mount that ships with, or is explicitly listed for, the exact AP model. A plate that comes in the box costs nothing extra and removes the compatibility question. If you are replacing many access points, test the first one before ordering the rest.
The bottom line
Both fit — your exact model decides:
