Privacy

Short version: we do not ask you for personal information, but we do use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and measures how the site is used.

What we collect

Nothing you tell us — there are no accounts, no comment system and no newsletter. We do runGoogle Analytics 4 to see which articles are read and how people arrive. It sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) and reports pages viewed, approximate location, device and referring site. IP anonymisation is enabled, so your full address is not stored by the measurement.

That processing is Google's, underGoogle's privacy policy. You can opt out for every site with Google'sbrowser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this domain. Nothing on this site requires them — the pages work identically with analytics blocked.

Server logs

The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL) in order to serve traffic and mitigate abuse. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. Cloudflare also injects its own Web Analytics beacon, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying visitors.

Affiliate links

When you click a product link you leave this site and land on Amazon, which sets its own cookies to attribute the referral. That is Amazon's processing under Amazon's privacy policy, not ours. We receive only aggregate commission reporting — never information about who you are or what else you bought.

Search

Search queries are processed in-request to look up matching articles and are not stored, logged to a database, or associated with anything.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page.
