Which Lights Fit the Aputure Spotlight Mount?

The original Aputure Spotlight Mount works with documented Aputure 120-, 300- and 600-series fixtures, but a Bowens mount alone does not establish compatibility. Check the exact light and projector model: Spotlight Mount, Spotlight Mount II, Spotlight SE, Spotlight Mini Zoom and Spotlight Mini have different compatibility requirements.

Aputure’s current compatibility wizard for the original Spotlight Mount explicitly lists the LS 300d II, LS 300x, LS 600d, LS 600d Pro, LS 600x Pro, LS 600c Pro and LS 600c Pro II. That supports those named combinations; it does not mean every Bowens light produces an equally useful projected image.

These similarly named accessories are separate systems. The table identifies documented pairings, rather than treating the mounting connector as universal approval.

Also check whether the item is a Lens Kit or Lens Only. A replacement projection lens does not provide the complete modifier that attaches to the light. Match both the product family and the package contents before ordering.

For Aputure 120, 300 and 600 lights

The original Spotlight Mount is a documented option for older lights as well as selected newer ones. Aputure publishes photometrics for the original C120d, C120d II and C300d with all three original lenses. For example, its C120d II figures at 3 metres are 6,280 lux with the 19° lens, 3,620 lux with the 26° and 2,175 lux with the 36°. These are manufacturer measurements, and they show why lens angle matters even after compatibility is established. For the LS 300d II and LS 300x, the current compatibility wizard provides an explicit match. The same is true for the named 600-series lights above. In particular, Aputure’s LS 600d Pro accessories FAQ explicitly includes the Spotlight Mount among compatible modifiers.

Keep the claim precise: documented compatibility establishes that Aputure supports the pairing. It does not establish identical brightness, edge definition or color behavior across different light engines. There is no verified independent measurement matrix in the sources here covering every original Spotlight Mount and 600-series combination.

For an LS 1200d Pro, choose the Spotlight Max as the documented route. Aputure explicitly designed it for that fixture and other high-output lights. The practical cost is substantial weight: Aputure lists 20.45 kg for the Spotlight Max with its 36° lens and an LS 1200d Pro lamp body. For STORM 400x or STORM 700x owners, the Spotlight Mount II is the specifically optimized model. Aputure rates this projector for ProLock and Bowens lights up to 800W and names both STORM fixtures. For amaran, LS 60 and other Bowens lights

Aputure’s November 2023 compatibility sheet lists the amaran 150c and 300c with the original Spotlight Mount. It also lists multiple amaran 100- and 200-series models with the Spotlight SE. The Spotlight SE is a sensible smaller alternative for supported lights through the 300W class. Aputure explicitly names the amaran 300c, LS 300d II and LS 300x as its largest suitable pairings. Skip the amaran Spotlight SE for a 600-series light: Aputure does not recommend using it with fixtures above 300W. The LS 60d and LS 60x have a more decisive exception. Skip the original Aputure Spotlight Mount for an LS 60d/60x setup, even if you have the supplied Bowens adapter. Aputure explains that the adapter supports soft-light modifiers, while the LS 60 optics do not behave like a bare COB for optical attachments such as the original Spotlight Mount. There is independent measurement for that dedicated combination. LensVid measured the LS 60d with Spotlight Mini Zoom at 8,340 lux in the wide position and 28,300 lux in the narrow position, at its stated 1-metre test distance, using a Sekonic C-800. Do not confuse the Mini Zoom with the newer Spotlight Mini: Aputure specifies the latter’s Mini ProLock mount for the STORM 80c. Spotlight Mini documentation

For a Godox, Nanlite, SmallRig or another manufacturer’s Bowens fixture, compatibility remains unconfirmed unless documentation covers that exact pairing. Physical attachment alone does not answer whether the projector will focus properly or distribute light acceptably. Ask support to confirm the light model, projector generation, lens and permitted operating conditions before buying an adapter or relying on the combination for a shoot.

Existing lenses, gobos and irises need separate checks

The original Spotlight Mount accepts B-size gobos. The Spotlight SE uses M-size gobos, and Aputure explicitly says its lenses are not interchangeable with the original Spotlight Mount. However, the SE and Mini Zoom share M-size gobo inserts and the M-size 18-leaf iris. Shared small accessories do not make their complete projector bodies interchangeable. Aputure lists the Spotlight Iris (B-Size) for both the original Spotlight Mount and Mount II. That specific shared accessory is not evidence that their projection lenses interchange; buy lenses designated for your projector generation. Original Spotlight Mount kit and iris compatibility

Each recommended product below is valid within its stated fixture group. The warnings concern specific mismatches: an SE on a higher-power fixture, an original Spotlight on LS 60 optics, or a replacement lens from the wrong family. Before ordering, confirm the exact lamp name, projector generation, kit contents and accessory size. If the manufacturer cannot confirm a pairing, treat it as unresolved rather than assuming the Bowens connector settles it.
