The Intel GU405 family uses a 16-core/16-thread Core Ultra 9 386H, and its RTX 5070 Ti can reach 130W with Dynamic Boost. Both have a 14-inch 2880 × 1800 OLED at 120Hz and a 73Wh battery, but the higher-power GU405 weighs 1.58kg rather than 1.50kg and uses a 250W adapter rather than the GA403’s 200W unit. Engineering workloads need memory before GPU tier
For ordinary AutoCAD drawings, ETABS or STAAD analysis, coursework-sized Revit projects, programming and project-management software, the RTX 5060 is not the weak link. Revit 2026 provides a useful published boundary: Autodesk specifies 32GB of RAM for its balanced configuration, 6GB of VRAM, and 8GB for its accelerated-graphics preview. The GA403GM’s 32GB of system RAM and 8GB RTX 5060 therefore meet those stated targets. Autodesk raises its recommendation to 64GB for large, complex Revit models.
That makes project scale more important than the words “engineering laptop.” If your typical Revit model remains below Autodesk’s approximate 600MB balanced-workload example and you are not running several virtual machines beside it, the 32GB RTX 5060 configuration is the sensible choice. If you routinely coordinate large linked BIM models, run memory-heavy simulation and meshing jobs, or keep Revit, analysis software, a virtual machine and Adobe applications open together, select a GU405 suffix that explicitly includes 64GB.
Buying a 32GB RTX 5070 Ti model does not fix a system-memory bottleneck. Both families use onboard LPDDR5X with no RAM slot, so capacity cannot be added later. Core counts alone are also a poor shortcut: the Ryzen’s 20 threads and Intel’s 16 cores describe different architectures, power limits and core types rather than a simple 20-versus-16 performance result.
Where 12GB of VRAM earns its place
Adobe recommends 32GB or more of system RAM and 8GB of GPU memory for 4K Premiere work. That puts the RTX 5060 configuration exactly on Adobe’s recommended line, not below it. Adobe’s current Premiere requirements list those figures directly.
The RTX 5070 Ti becomes the meaningful upgrade when the media crosses that line. Puget Systems recommends 8GB of VRAM for 4K, 12GB for 6K and more memory for multistream sequences; it also notes that higher-end GPUs matter more as GPU-accelerated effects become heavier. Choose the RTX 5070 Ti for regular 6K editing, several simultaneous 4K streams, substantial noise reduction or AI effects, Blender GPU rendering, CUDA-heavy computation, or local models that cannot remain inside 8GB. For straightforward single-camera 4K timelines, proxies, cuts, color adjustments and H.264/H.265 exports, the RTX 5060 already has the necessary hardware acceleration.
The Intel configuration also supplies Quick Sync, which Adobe lists as desirable for supported H.264 and HEVC workflows. That is a useful advantage for editors handling Long-GOP camera media every day, but it does not make the AMD configuration incapable of editing or exporting those formats.

The G14’s “3K” panel contains 5.18 million pixels. That is about 41% more pixels than 2560 × 1440, so a claim that either GPU is a strong 1440p performer does not automatically promise the same frame rate at the laptop’s full 2880 × 1800 resolution.
Notebookcheck measured the exact 2026 GU405AR with the RTX 5070 Ti at 77.4 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 2560 × 1440 Ultra, but only 44 fps in Assassin’s Creed Shadows at 2560 × 1440 Ultra High. F1 24 reached 102.5 fps at that resolution with Quality DLSS. Those results show that even the faster configuration cannot guarantee native-resolution, maximum-setting, 60-fps play in every demanding game. With the RTX 5060, plan to use 1920 × 1200 rendering, DLSS Quality or Balanced, and selectively reduced settings in new AAA games. The OLED still displays the resulting image at its native resolution; the game is simply rendered from fewer pixels. Competitive and less demanding games are a much easier workload.
Choose the RTX 5070 Ti if maintaining higher textures, ray tracing or frame rates near 3K is a priority. If native 2880 × 1800 at maximum settings and at least 60 fps in every new AAA release is non-negotiable, neither configuration is the right promise; a larger, higher-power laptop is more appropriate. Published RTX 5060 measurements also need context. PCWorld tested the previous 2025 G14 with a 100W RTX 5060 and found that larger Lenovo laptops using the same named GPU were nearly 20% faster in one graphics comparison. That is not a benchmark of the 2026 GA403GM, but it demonstrates why desktop-GPU charts and results from thicker 5060 laptops cannot be pasted onto a thin G14. Streaming does not justify the 5070 Ti by itself
Both laptop GPUs contain one ninth-generation NVENC encoder. NVIDIA places the RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPUs in the same “essential” livestreaming group, targeting streams up to 1080p; the RTX 5080 is where NVIDIA lists twice the multistream capability. NVIDIA’s Studio selector documents that distinction.
The RTX 5070 Ti can leave more rendering headroom while a demanding game and OBS run together, but it does not give you an additional encoder. The RTX 5070 Ti configuration is therefore the wrong choice for someone expecting ordinary AutoCAD work or one 1080p stream to become fundamentally different: neither workload uses its extra 4GB of VRAM as a matter of course, and both options have the same NVENC count.
The configuration detail that cannot be fixed later
Check the full suffix before ordering. “Zephyrus G14 RTX 5060” can describe 2025 and 2026 systems, regional variants, and both 16GB and 32GB listings. For this mixed workload, the recommendation is specifically the 32GB GA403GM, not a soldered 16GB version.
Storage is replaceable, but there is only one M.2 slot, so an upgrade replaces the factory drive rather than adding a second internal project disk. The AMD model has USB4 and a UHS-II microSD reader; the Intel GU405 substitutes Thunderbolt 4 and a full-size UHS-II SD reader. That full-size reader is a practical advantage when footage comes directly from a camera.
Before buying, confirm these five lines in the listing:
